A crested-helm hoplite surges forward with a curved blade thrust skyward, one knee driving ahead as the other foot stays planted. His round shield is studded with bosses and bound in a rim of rivets, with a fringed cloth draped across its lower edge and an ankh charm dangling from the drape. Armoured greaves, sandalled feet and plated joints give him a battle-worn, half-mechanical edge that sets him apart from a standard spear-and-shield soldier.
