A carnival stage prop with a wooden secret

This assembled wooden magic box sits on an ornate table, with a plank-built cabinet split down the middle by a central latch post. The table skirt is carved with scalloped arches and diamond motifs, and curled scroll feet give it a theatrical, travelling-show look. A small crate with a draped cloth tucks in at one end, adding clutter to the stage.

Use it as a performer's stage prop, a fairground oddity or a suspicious piece of furniture in a street market or tavern. The weathered plank texture takes paint and washes well, so it is easy to finish as aged timber, bright carnival colours or sinister showman's gear.
