FAQ

Where is my order?
Rest assured, we are printing, cleaning up and shipping your order as fast as we can. Myth Forged is just the two of us (Sam and Steve) so sometimes in busier periods a bit of a queue can develop. Average dispatch time is 5 days but check the banner at the top of the site for accurate lead times.

What kind of glue should I use?
I use a gel super glue. We sell Loctite on the store as we know it works!
Poly/plastic cement will not work

What prep do I need to do for painting?
The miniatures should be ready for a priming coat, however I'd always recommend a quick wash with warm, soapy water. You can paint directly onto the mini, but I recommend priming.

Why have some of the miniatures come on supports?
I ship delicate or small things with the supports still attached. I've found that things get broken and/or lost if I don't. If you submerge them in hot warm for 15 seconds, most miniatures will peel off the supports really easily. Just go slowly and steadily.

My mini feels sticky/tacky to touch - what's going on?
Sometimes the combination of humidity and the packaging causes the washing solution to make the surface a little tacky. This can be solved with a wash in either isopolyl alcohol, or just hot soapy water. Leave to dry in the sun/warm dry place and they'll be fine.

Introduce an enigmatic and formidable presence to your Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder 2E, or Call of Cthulhu campaigns with the Masked Grell miniature. This figure brings to life a unique interpretation of the Grell, a creature known for its floating, brain-like form and deadly tentacles. Distinguished by a cloak that shrouds its writhing mass of tentacles and adorned with a mask that bears the intricate and ornamental designs reminiscent of Venetian styling, this Grell stands apart as a being of mystery and danger. The mask, concealing the Grell's true visage, adds a layer of intrigue and sophistication, suggesting a creature that not only revels in the art of deception but also possesses a culture and intelligence beyond the ordinary.

The sculpture of the Masked Grell captures the dynamic tension between the creature's alien nature and its adopted guise. The cloak is designed to suggest movement and fluidity, hinting at the multitude of tentacles lurking beneath, ready to strike at a moment's notice. The mask is a focal point, intricately detailed to reflect the Venetian influence, making the Grell appear both more approachable and infinitely more mysterious. The choice to mask and cloak such a creature speaks to its unique place in the world—a monster that walks among civilization, concealing its true form while engaging in its inscrutable pursuits.

For miniature painting enthusiasts, the Masked Grell presents a canvas filled with opportunities for creativity and expression. The cloak offers a chance to experiment with shadows and folds, giving life to the fabric that hides the Grell's monstrous form. The mask, with its Venetian styling, invites intricate detail work, from gold leafing effects to the application of vibrant colors that contrast with the darker tones of the cloak. The visible parts of the Grell's tentacles peeking out from under the cloak allow for the exploration of texture and color, hinting at the creature's otherworldliness.

Incorporating the Masked Grell into your TTRPG sessions introduces a character shrouded in mystery and ripe with narrative potential. Whether as a clandestine antagonist weaving plots from the shadows, a curious ally with motives that are as hidden as its face, or a neutral figure whose presence challenges the players' perceptions of monsters and men, this miniature enriches the story. Its presence on the tabletop serves as a reminder of the thin veil between the mundane and the magical, the known and the unknowable, challenging players to confront their prejudices and to expect the unexpected in a world where even the most alien beings can don masks and move in secret societies.
