What It Is

This one looks like an empty robe that has decided it no longer needs the inconvenience of a body. The deep hood is all shadow inside, with no face peering back out, while the shoulders are wrapped in a heavy mantle fastened by two square clasps. A rope belt cinches the middle, but below that the sculpt breaks into long hanging strips of cloth instead of proper legs, so it reads more as a drifting haunted garment than a person in fancy dress. There is a slightly odd little tasselled point to the hood that keeps it from being just another grim spectre, which I like, because it makes the whole thing feel a bit folkloric and a bit wrong in equal measure.

At The Table

For D&D 5e or Pathfinder 2e, this is an easy win as a minor construct, cursed servant, or ghostly remnant bound to a house, tower, or wizard's wardrobe. I would use it as the first sign that a place is enchanted in a petty, mean-spirited way: not a grand boss fight, just the sort of thing that glides out of a corridor and tries to smother the party wizard while the fighter wastes a round trying to work out where its actual anatomy is. It also works nicely as an Unseen Servant gone sour, a rogue Animated Object, or the visible shell of something incorporeal that only fully emerges once the fight turns ugly.

In Shadowdark or Dolmenwood, this feels even better. It has that fairy-tale nastiness where it could be found hanging from a peg in an abandoned manor, only to unfold itself when somebody gets greedy with the silverware. In Call of Cthulhu, I would happily run it as a ritual vestment animated by whatever now lives inside the chapel walls, and in Blades in the Dark it could be a spirit-infested relic from a noble household, drifting through locked rooms and unsettling everybody before it actually becomes dangerous. It is the sort of mini that earns its place by being specific, strange, and just funny enough that players remember it after the session.

Printed in high-quality resin. Supplied unpainted. Fits a 1" base.
