What It Is
This is a proper nightmare on a 50mm base. The Abyssal Mist Horror is all writhing tendrils and ghostly vapour, with multiple tortured faces emerging from the swirling mass. There's no physical form here—just an amorphous cloud of supernatural dread that seems to shift and twist in on itself. The sculpt captures that sense of constant motion brilliantly, with wispy trails that look like they're mid-billow. Arch Villain Games has nailed the ethereal horror aesthetic—this thing looks like it belongs in a particularly grim Lovecraftian tale.
At The Table
In D&D 5e, this works perfectly as a homebrewed Shadow Demon variant or an Allip that's gone properly feral. Drop it in a haunted mansion or cursed battlefield where restless dead have merged into something worse than the sum of their parts. The faces in the mist could be the souls it's consumed—make your players roll Wisdom saves when they look too closely, maybe have them see someone they failed to save.
For Call of Cthulhu or Delta Green, this is your "thing that shouldn't exist" encounter. A dimensional breach gone wrong, or what happens when a Deep One ritual gets interrupted halfway through. The investigators disturb an old cult site and this manifestation starts hunting them through foggy streets. Perfect for a Victorian London Gaslight scenario.
In Shadowdark or OSR games, it's an excellent wandering undead encounter for corrupted wastelands. No stats, no predictable behaviour—just pure cosmic wrongness that forces the party to run or get clever. The kind of thing that makes old-school dungeon crawlers reconsider taking that shortcut through the mist-shrouded valley.
Printed in high-quality resin. Supplied unpainted. 50mm base.
