What It Is
This cyclops isn't your standard mythological brute — he's kitted out like a warlord who's been at it for decades. The armour is proper scavenged-and-cobbled work: mismatched metal plates held together with thick leather straps, a horned helmet that frames that single glaring eye, and spaulders that look like they came off someone else's corpse. The club is brilliant too — basically a tree trunk wrapped in chains with stone spikes hammered through it. The whole pose reads aggressive and confident, weight shifted forward like he's about to make someone's day considerably worse.
At The Table
In D&D 5e or Pathfinder 2e, this works perfectly as a lone cyclops who's somehow clawed their way up from savage giant to actual warlord. Maybe he's the enforcer for a hill giant chief, or the last survivor of a clan who now hires himself out as muscle to whoever pays in livestock. That armour tells a story — every piece looted from a different fight, a different kill. Your party might encounter him guarding a mountain pass, demanding tribute, or as the final guardian of some ancient ruin where he's been paid in sheep to keep adventurers out.
For something grittier like Shadowdark or Old-School Essentials, he'd make an excellent boss monster for a low-to-mid level party. The armour gives him staying power, but he's still fundamentally a cyclops — predictable, arrogant, exploitable. Smart players might try to blind that one good eye or collapse the cave entrance on him. He'd also work in a Dolmenwood campaign as one of the stranger sellswords operating out of the border forts — the kind of creature the locals whisper about but nobody wants to confront directly.
The 75mm base means he's properly imposing on the table — big enough to make players nervous but not so massive you can't fit him through dungeon corridors. He's the kind of encounter that looks straightforward until someone realizes he's got actual tactics and isn't just swinging blindly.
