What It Is
This air elemental has a proper whirlwind form — a vaguely humanoid shape rising from swirling clouds and wind currents. The sculpt captures that sense of constant motion with flowing, wispy details that spiral upward. Arms extended in a threatening pose, the whole thing looks like it's about to buffet your party across the room. It's less "floating angry cloud" and more "sentient tornado with a grudge".
At The Table
Air elementals are the chaotic neutral bruisers of the elemental plane. They don't care about your quest — they're just following orders from whoever summoned them or defending their territory. In D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2e, they're CR 5 creatures that can knock you prone and zip around the battlefield with their whirlwind ability. Print this at Large or Huge for a proper boss encounter.
For a Shadowdark one-shot, stick one of these in an abandoned wizard's tower. The party thinks they're looting an empty ruin, but surprise — the old mage's binding spell is still holding, and this thing is furious. In Dolmenwood, maybe it's a fairy-touched spirit bound to protect a grove, or a manifestation of the Wild Hunt's fury during storm season.
Air elementals also make excellent summoned allies. If your party's wizard finally gets conjure elemental or the equivalent, having the actual mini ready beats pointing at a dice and saying "imagine a wind creature here". The scalability helps too — conjure a Medium one at lower levels, or go Gargantuan when you're facing down a lich and need the big guns.
